GHISA is a student association dedicated to academic excellence, leadership development, and community engagement. THE CONSTITUTION OF THE GUJBA HIGH INSTITUTION ASSOCIATION (GHISA) PREAMBLE We, the students of Gujba High Institution Association (hereinafter referred to as GHISA), having firmly and solemnly resolved to provide for ourselves a constitution to promote unity, welfare, academic excellence, and understanding among members, do hereby create, adopt, and give to ourselves this constitution. ARTICLE 1: NAME AND ADDRESS 1.1 The Association shall be known and addressed as Gujba High Institution Association (GHISA). 1.2 The address of the association shall be within the premises of the institution. ARTICLE 2: AIMS AND OBJECTIVES The Aims and Objectives of the Association are: a) To foster the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and cooperation among all members. b) To promote the academic, social, and welfare interests of members. c) To represent the interest of the association in matters concerning the institution. d) To encourage hard work, academic excellence, and high moral standards. e) To collaborate with the school authorities for the development of the institution. ARTICLE 3: MEMBERSHIP 3.1 Eligibility: Membership is open to all students, indigene, or associated persons of Gujba origin in high institutions. 3.2 Types of Membership: a) Active Members: Registered members who pay dues and participate in activities. b) Patrons/Advisers: Distinguished personalities appointed to guide the association. ARTICLE 4: THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL (EXCO) The Executive Council shall be elected to manage the affairs of the association, consisting of: a) President: Directs affairs, presides over meetings, and acts as the face of the association. b) Vice President: Assists the President and acts in their absence. c) Secretary General: Records minutes, handles correspondence, and manages records. d) Assistant Secretary: Assists the Secretary General. e) Financial Secretary: Collects dues and maintains financial records. f) Treasurer: Keeps safe custody of the association’s funds. g) Publicity Secretary/PRO: Manages information and publicity. h) Social/Welfare Director: Organizes social events and looks after member welfare. ARTICLE 5: MEETINGS 5.1 General Meeting: Shall hold at least once a month. 5.2 Annual General Meeting (AGM): Shall hold at the end of the academic year for reports and elections. 5.3 Emergency Meeting: Can be called by the President or upon written request by 2/3 of members. ARTICLE 6: FINANCE 6.1 Revenue Sources: Registration fees, annual dues, levies, and donations. 6.2 Bank Account: The Association shall operate a bank account, with the President, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary as signatories. ARTICLE 7: ELECTIONS 7.1 Eligibility: Only active financial members can vote and be voted for. 7.2 Term of Office: Executives shall hold office for one academic year only, but are eligible for re-election for one more term. 7.3 Electoral Committee: An independent committee of 3-5 members shall be appointed to conduct elections. ARTICLE 8: AMENDMENTS This constitution may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of members present at an Annual General Meeting, provided that notice of the amendment was given at least two weeks before the meeting. ARTICLE 9: ADOPTION This constitution is adopted by the General Body of the Gujba High Institution Association (GHISA) on this day, [Insert Date] and shall take effect immediately.
